My Big Move!

After 41 years of working for large national/international law firms, I have transitioned to my own firm to provide services as a mediator, an arbitrator and a legal consultant in litigation and trial strategy.  My career has been focused on trial work, trying 50 jury trials in California and other courts around the country, and handling dozens of arbitrations before a variety of tribunals (AAA, JAMS, ARIAS, NASD/FINRA and the Independent Film and Television Alliance).  I have been able to hone and share my trial expertise by being a National Institute for Trial Advocacy Instructor for over 30 years, and creating and presenting trial programs for in-house counsel and outside attorneys.  My substantive expertise has been in the areas of business disputes, especially in the fields of insurance/reinsurance, and professional liability litigation. 

I am really looking forward to continuing to help clients, but now in a new role as mediator and arbitrator.   I believe that my experience, particularly the vast trial and arbitration experience in a panoply of substantive areas, makes me ideally-suited to bring parties and their attorneys together to help focus them on the real issues in dispute and help them forge a resolution of their problems.  Clients have always engaged with my personality and my calm, focused demeanor, which is particularly conducive to presiding over mediations with parties and their counsel to resolve disputes.  Alternatively, my substantial trial and arbitration experience provides me the perfect background to preside as an arbitrator.  I have a focused trial approach that will allow me to help the parties and counsel focus on the real issues, limit discovery to those issues, and prepare for a streamlined hearing.  The end game is a more efficient, cost-effective resolution.

I will also continue to provide clients with consult on litigation and trial strategy.  I am available to consult on all phases of case analysis, trial preparation and trial strategy.  Approaching every case with a laser-focused early analysis, and trial-focused strategic plan is what I have done my entire career.  I am available to share those skills and help plan and strategize your case to resolution while mitigating costs and maximizing chances for the best result.
